On January 31st 2020 the Westview senior men’s basketball team participated in the Crescent Annual Tournament at the Crescent private school in Toronto. At this tournament we were seen as the underdogs going into every game, but we sure proved everyone wrong. Our team effort was great! We defeated Upper Canada College’s elite team in the quarterfinals. This game was the game that coaches Dave Forrester, Chris Blackwood and Elias Paisley said was, “the peak of our team’s performance this season”. Our team members, looking back at this game, generally agreed that this was the high point of our team's performance. We truly played for each other, like the brotherhood we had formed throughout this season’s journey.

On Wednesday, November 27th, 2019 the senior Boys basketball team battled in a close game against Downsview. Playing in the first game of their season they rallied together while missing key teammates for the 70-57 win over Downsview. With their Captain-Malachi Punch missing several leaders such as Nathan Johnson and Emanuel Anim came together and used the skills attained in practice in order to keep spirits high and hold off a worthy opponent. On Wednesday, January 8 the Westview senior boys’ basketball team came out with a bang, with a win over Northview. With a full squad and all the gears clicking, all of their skills were left on the court as they came together and dominated their opponent. Words of encouragement were uttered on the court as the team started to evolve into the brotherhood it is today. (Picture of the team walking out from a timeout)

On Thursday, February 20th the Westview senior boys’ basketball team met Northview once again at the regional championship. The game was an intense one that had supporters on the edge of their seats. It was a battle that ended with Northview taking the win by four with a score of 65-61. The team did not hang their heads after the loss but had them raised high looking back at their amazing undefeated season. The boys continued their journey into the city semi-finals the following Tuesday but came up short once more, even though the season was over the brotherhood that was formed still lives on.
