Over 500 Local Students Participated in Community Clean-Ups This Spring


By Matias de DovitiisExecutive Assistant to councillor Anthony Perruzza During the month of June, hundreds of students from many schools from the Ward 8 area participated in school clean-ups in many of our parks.Councillor Perruzza was very proud to have joined with many of our schools in this great yearly community effort. His office has been organizing this event since 2007, which has seen thousands of students participating.The students participated in the clean-up and in an in class session to learn about the environment and about the importance of keeping our community clean and beautiful. The workshops were done by York University student Miranda Chan, who shared the importance of knowing what items are eco-friendly and the importance of keeping our community green.Come see pictures of our new Subway stations and help us to name them on Thursday July 5, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. -- 8:00 p.m. at Black Creek Pioneer Village, 1000 Murray Ross Pkwy.
