Students from Emery Adult Learning Centre and YorkU drum and dance together (see video below)
On Wednesday 14th March, in the middle of March break, the Emery Adult Learning Centre’s first integrated arts course joined with York University to support our former student Meena! She wanted African drumming as part of her presentation in her YorkU Communications and Culture course. This was an amazing opportunity and experience! We were given the opportunity to bridge with York, a priority destination for EALC students. The drumming circle was interactive and soon professors, TAs and drummers were all dancing and singing in one big harmonious group.
The presentation was very successful, thanks to every one, especially the students, who gave of their time willingly in the school break, to make it possible!
